Marinedeck 2000

Cork Composite Decking offering outstanding durability and performance.

As teak supplies continue to decline in the UK, we’re proud to offer a proven, sustainable alternative that that not only meets today’s performance demands but also supports a healthier planet.

Engineered for the Sea and Built to Last.

Unlike synthetic alternatives, Marinedeck 2000 was developed specifically for the harsh demands of boating and yachting and it delivers every time and can last for decades.

Not all cork is created equal.

While other marine cork decking options rely on extruded cork sheets — a faster, cheaper process — this method can lead to inconsistencies and reduced durability over time.

MARINEDECK 2000 is different.

It is produced using precision moulds subjected to high-pressure compression. These moulds combine extra small cork granules with a specially developed synthetic binder that adheres to strict environmental regulations. This hybrid solution of natural cork and the binder delivers optimal strength and longevity whilst providing an eco-friendly decking solution to the marine industry and beyond.

Why Choose Cork Decking?

We offer a modern, sustainable alternative to traditional decking materials. While marine decks have generally relied on teak, sawn woods, or plastic-based PVC options, our natural cork decking provides all the benefits without contributing to deforestation or excessive plastic use. Cork is a renewable, eco-conscious material that doesn’t require tree cutting, and unlike synthetic alternatives, it minimizes environmental impact over its entire lifecycle.

Thanks to its exceptional durability, a cork deck can last for decades — meaning you won’t need to replace your decking every 10 years like with many traditional options. This extended lifespan helps eliminate unnecessary waste, making it one of the most sustainable choices for marine flooring.

The Science Behind Cork

Cork (suberose parenchyma) is composed of over 40 million air-filled cells per cm³, making it a powerful natural insulator. Its unique cellular structure:

  • Reduces heat loss by up to 36%

  • Lowers surface temperature by up to 53%

  • Is so effective, it’s even used in space shuttle heat shields
